What can Monmouth University students expect from TEDxNavesink?
The historic campus of Monmouth University will provide the backdrop for TEDxNavesink 2015: Accelerators on April 11 at Pollak Theatre. Monmouth University students will have the unique opportunity to take part in a local TEDx event right on their campus.
The beauty of TEDxNavesink is that it offers something for everyone, regardless of your interests, your major, or your intended career path. With this year’s theme, accelerators, you’ll find inspiration and fresh ideas on topics ranging from art to medicine, and from communications to quantum physics. The sheer range of speakers and experts is exhilarating—musicians, innovators, artists, scientists, philanthropists, writers, thought leaders. And each one of them is bursting to tell you what drives them and share with you their passions.
Check out the local talent
Each of the TEDxNavesink events has brought together presenters and speakers from around the world, but also on the roster are local experts and voices sharing their talent and expertise. This year’s speakers include some of the best Monmouth county has to offer—entertainers like comedian Vinnie Brand of the Stress Factory Comedy Club; literacy advocate Abby Daly, the founder of Bridge of Books Foundation, and Monmouth University’s own Dr. Gary Lewandowski.
Inspiration and intent
What’s it like to try to change the world? Many of the TEDxNavesink speakers are game changers and innovators in their fields. They’re offering their views and some new perspectives in areas of global and national interest, such as healthcare, sustainability, and cultural change. Others are focused on inspiring change on a more personal level, with topics such as dealing with break ups, embracing simplicity, or even learning to be a virtuoso in your own life.
